Can I arrange a funeral at Monken Hadley church?

Funerals can be held at Monken Hadley or at a crematorium by a member of the clergy.

A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service.

A clergy member will then meet with you to discuss your thoughts about the service and how to commemorate the person you are remembering.

At the funeral service, we give thanks to God for the life of the person who has died, we pray for those who are mourning, we entrust the departed person to God’s eternal care, and we give thanks for God’s gift of eternal life.

Can I be buried at Monken Hadley?

Monken Hadley’s churchyard is closed for burials.

Please contact your local council or funeral directors for a list of burial grounds

Ashes can be interred in a piece of ground reserved for this purpose in our graveyard for church members or those with a connecting criteria with our church. Please contact the Wardens for more information.

Those with buried ashes are able to place a memorial plaque on our Wall of Remembrance, space-permitting.
