Flowers

Flower Arrangers or the Flower Guild, is an organisation of church members with an interest in flower arranging. Some are highly experienced, some hold qualifications in the art, others are willing volunteers seeking to learn the craft.

Some weeks the church is full of flowers. In Advent and Lent there are none, and that is on purpose.

The Flower Guild keeps flowers in church week by week: something simple most Sundays, and something a great deal fuller at the festivals, Christmas, Epiphany and Easter above all.

In Advent and Lent there are none at all. These are penitential seasons and the church is meant to look plainer, so that when the flowers come back at Christmas and Easter you notice. During Advent we sometimes mark the weeks with greenery alone.

We also do the flowers for weddings, funerals and other special services. There are pedestals, boxes, swags and pew ends to choose from, and we are glad to talk through what you would like. If you are arranging a wedding or a funeral here, just ask.
