We love the traditional hymns of the great Anglican repertoire, and we sing them from Ancient and Modern (2013). We chant the psalms, and on most Sundays the choir sings an anthem from the great tradition of Anglican church music, with composers such as Tallis, Byrd, Stanford and Howells. The choir also takes on larger works from time to time, sometimes joined by singers from the UK-Japan Music Society. Dates for services and concerts are on our Calendar. Our choirmaster and organist is Jonathan Gregory, and our deputy choirmaster is Duncan Paulson.
Some examples of our choir music are The Lord's My Shepherd (in an arrangement by one of our members) and the Tallis setting of the Nunc Dimittis.
We have a pipe organ built by Forster and Andrews of Hull with two keyboards and twenty speaking stops, built around 1850 (though not for us - it was moved to our church in the early 1990s). It was restored in 1999. More information about the organ can be found on the National Pipe Organ Register .
