The Revd Francesco Aresco is the Rector of St Mary the Virgin, Monken Hadley. Originally from Sicily, he studied Classics at Bologna and UCL and is pursuing a Divinity PhD at Cambridge. Francesco's love for reading novels, history, and philosophy is central to his ministry and his illustrations feature in the weekly order of service.

Prior to his current role, Francesco was a Sheppard Scholar at St Martin-in-the-Fields and served as a curate at St Mary at Finchley, dedicated to spreading the Gospel, enhancing community life, and engaging in youth ministry.

Francesco’s enthusiasm for nature includes woodland exploration and enjoying adventurous holidays and countryside walks with his partner, Felix.
